In between weekends at Bainbridge Island, we took a four day excursion south to Mt. St. Helens (showing the big crater from the 1980 eruption) and down to northern Oregon, where we followed the Columbia River Gorge east from Portland to The Dalles.  There are some pictures (below) of the gorge from various points.  Very near the river off the quaint old historic road we traveled on was Multnomah Falls, the second highest year round waterfall in the nation at 620 feet.  It was one of several falls we enjoyed.
We also included a photo of Mt. Adams, as well as one of Mt. Hood (that’s smoke comimg from Mt. Hood – no, it’s not erupting.  It’s a fire!  Oregon had a few forest fires during our western trip).
