We took a break from the nasty winter we’re having here in Milwaukee, and drove to Florida for a little getaway.  This is the first posting for the Florida trip, concentrating on the Tampa area, where we where fortunate enough to stay with our next-door neighbors Lee and Vern’s daughter, Sheryl.  She welcomed us into her home, which is wonderfully situated right across the street from a park on the Hillsborough River.  She was gracious enough to drive us around to all the great sites, which included Fort De Soto Park (photos 3 through 6).  That’s an egg casing for a sea creature that lives in a shell in #6.  The pelicans in #13 were at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary.  The other pictures are of Sheryl’s family.  We’re at her daughter Julie’s apartment in #10, and that’s the view from her porch in #14. Right near her apartment is the Pinellas trail (8 and 9).  We also went to the Tampa Aquarium, and took an EcoTour boat ride in Tampa Bay to see jumping dolphins.  Couldn’t get pictures of them.  Stay tuned for another Florida posting, coming probably this weekend.
